The Forest Way (Sustrans route 21)
The Forest Way runs along a dis-used railway line between East Grinstead and Groombridge just to the Southwest of Tunbridge Wells. This marvellous trail skirts the edge of the Medway river in this area of outstanding natural beauty and passes the village Hartfield along the way (the old home of AA Milne). This is countryside that inspired Winnie the Pooh. A great family day out, the route is off-road and pretty flat. There are picnic benches to be found along the route as well a great pubs in Groombridge, Hartfield and Forest Row to explore.
Type of route: Mainly off-road cycle and walking path
Suitability: All ages and family
Difficulty: Easy. Mainly flat and off road on good surface
