The Anchor Inn – Hartfield

Dating back to the 15th Century, The Anchor Inn is a family-friendly pub in the village of Hartfield, East Sussex – best known as the home of author AA Milne. The magic that seams to have inspired the writing of Winnie the Pooh oozes from every nook and cranny of this beautiful village and right at the heart of the village sits this wonderful country Inn.

This venue is a perfect spot to head out and explore the Ashdown Forest…or down the stunning Medway valley towards Groombridge or East Grinstead on the off-road Forest Way cycling route. Why not head out into this area of outstanding natural beauty by bicycle and have your own game of Pooh Sticks. There are certainly worse ways to spend the day.
