The Dirty Habit – Hollingbourne
In a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and situated directly on a family friendly cycling section of the magnificent Pilgrims way, the Dirty Habit is just about perfect. What better place to use as a base to get out into the countryside for a bike ride. When you are done, then perhaps reward yourself with a pint or something amazing from the Gin menu.
The site of the pub dates from the 11th century and was owned by monks who brewed their ale there and survived by resting weary pilgrims on their way to Canterbury. King James II also stayed at the Inn whilst on his way to France via Canterbury and Dover. The long Georgian oak bar and oak panelling in the bar area have been restored to perfection by skilled local craftsmen. The Victorian tables and chairs have been retained, restored and re-upholstered to ensure that the English pub traditional interior has not been lost. With oodles of atmosphere, oak beams to the apex and a bread oven in the corner, you will enjoy a special occasion in a special place with family and friends. The exterior terrace area has been beautifully refurbished and now offers a quiet outdoor place to enjoy your food or relax with your drink in comfort. All the food is sourced locally whenever possible and freshly cooked by their award winning chef when ordered.
