FAQs

The e-bikes don’t do all the work and you still have to pedal but they do make it so much easier to cope any hills you may encounter. Your don’t need to be super fit but a base level of fitness will help you enjoy the experience all the more.

You should expect to do around 15miles of cycling at a minimum each day depending on how exact you follow our route. Your guide will be happy to work with you in extending that distance for the period you have available with them. The batteries of the bikes are designed to last for about twice that distance (depending on weight, hills and setting) and so you should have plenty of juice in the tank to be supported by the motor the whole route if you charge the batteries again after the first day cycle ride at your accommodation.

It is in part guided. You will have access to a cycle guide to accompany you to your accommodation on your first day and then part of the way back to the station on the 2nd day (details as noted in itinerary).  We provide tickets to the main places to see that are listed and a suggested route. During unguided stages of the trip you are free to do as you wish as long as you look after the bikes, respect the countryside and cycle with care. Do note however time and thought goes into choosing the route we have recommended to avoid where possible the more challenging roads and hills in the area and also pick up the best scenery and sights along the way.

If you get a puncture or encounter another problem with your bikes during the guided stage of you trip then your guide will assist you in fixing the problem. The guide is also a trained mobile mechanic. If you encounter a problem during the unguided stages of your trip then get in touch and we will come to your assistance. If you are confident with fixing punctures yourself then great. Our bikes will come with a puncture repair kit and spare inner tube for you to fix the puncture yourself if you wish. Please ensure to let us know of the incident too, avoid using the e-assistance on the bike and we will meet you at the next convenient planned stop to give the bike a proper check over.
